The Vast open desert of the Vemillian Cliffs National Monument of

Northern Arizona gives a whole new meaning to the idea of infinity.

depth is great, color is great, and you captured the great composition of the blue sky. i like this photo. Mt don't take up the photo but you wont forget that they are there. I don't know if that was your idea but that's what I get just by looking at this photo.

Gary, close your eyes and imagine what this would have looked like had you shot it in contrast b/w. Also, this desert(with the warm colors, lines and shapes of the cliffs) is undeniably an important part of the photo, yet it fills up about 10%of the photo. Why? ken

I did a shoot of them years ago in B&W , I may have to drag some out and post them sometime. This part of Arizona and southern Utah are so ignored by photographers that its really quite unbelievable. But that keeps the area pristen , unpolluted and rich in natural beauty. Thank for your comments .

Nice shot Gary! I just returned from the Sedona area. Spent the week of Christmas there, and had the opportunity to go to Page, (Antelope Canyon of course), and found the area absolutely beautiful. The next time I head that way I am definately planning on spending more time in northern AZ and southern Utah. I love looking at the images in your folder, and aspire to return the "West" in order to further my landscape photography skills. Best regards..LJ

Thanks Lesa, If you get out this way again you Have to, Have to, Have to, Go from Page to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, The Vermillian Cliffs NM and of coarse the North Rim are breathtaking. Then on to Kanabe Utah and make the circle back to Page, You can see more photo ops in a day than most people dream of in a life time. August thru October are the best time as thats monsoon season as was the case when the above photo was taken, Feel tree to contact me prior to coming out and i'll let you know what conditions are like.
