Looking at the larger file it is way to clear that this has been heavly photoshopped.

Sorry I just don't like things that have photoshop written all over them.

The geese would have been darker, the horizon where the pole is has been smudged, and the left edge of the tree has been cloned... geese legs look weird on the ground...

Im sorry.

Not for me.

Doug,

Yes, the image has been photoshopped. It is two images together taken at the same time and in the same location. The smudge at the top of the telegraph pole is where I attempted to take out the telegraph wire that was very obvious. The same is true for the clone on the side of the tree. These comments I do not object to. I would not have asked if I objected to negative replies. What I do not like is the uploaded copy with all the bright red marking. This smacks of something a little more negative and disturbing. The way you have 'marked' my image is just a little too reactionary and unecessary. I take your comments and I understand your reasoning. I do not feel that marking my image in such a violent manner was merited.

To answer some of your questions. The Whooper Swan that you felt was swimming was actually lying down at the side of the road. The feet, you are quite correct do require more work as does the skyline. The swans were taken at the same time of day and in the same location. They were simply made larger. These are some of the thousands of wildfowl that winter in my area and are attacted to the fields by some of the winter vegetables that the farmers leave out for them.

I understand the reasons you dislike photoshop. All I can say is that I disagree. An image, any image is not about its tools. A photograph is not about a camera in the same way a painting is not about its brush. The tool or technique is only part of the journey to the finshed image. The skill is in choosing the correct one for the job. Regards Ken.

Ken,

Nice picture. Good compositon and the line of white geese contrast well with the over all muted colors. Suggestion: I would crop the bottom of the picture to bring the horizon down from nearly dead-center. Of course, sometimes one prefers to have the horizon in the center for a sense of bucolic peacefulness and tranquility. The call would be yours.

I took a moment or two and looked at a few of your portfolio pictures. Excellent work.

i like the photo very much, nice country scean. the photoshoping doen,t bother me and most likely would not be detected by the general public. Don,t let the marking of the uploaded image bother you so much, i,am sure it was ment for instructional purposes, not well executed. he may have been a catholic nun in another life.
