dianar 0 Posted January 3, 2007 The reddish grass saves this photo. It creates simple composition which fulfil feeling of perfection.... Link to comment
hexenwolfe 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Beautiful image. You might look carefully at all your negatives, you might find the image of a UFO or secret airforce plane. Last time I was as White Sands, the government was conducting bombing training with the stealth F117, and B-2 bombers. At night the sky was full of strange lights and stealth aircraft. clayton_berg 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Love the white sand, had you not said where this was taken I would have guessed it was snow. Like already mentioned, the red grass at the bottom makes this shot remarkable. Very well done sir. Link to comment
ken_james 0 Posted January 4, 2007 eugene: when I look at a landscape photo, I either want to explore it or I don't. I don't have to think it is pretty, but if the photographer does his job, he will make it interesting. Is this interesting to you? Sand dunes are about expanse...this photo could be a pile of sand next to a highway. It is also flat. This tells me nothing about the subject matter. Ken Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted January 4, 2007 I really have to strongly disagree with this hot shot, whom commented before me, Ken something. I find this to be a very interesting and a very beautiful image. The light and the colours suit perfectly together and the shadows and changing shades give lots of depth to it. Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted January 4, 2007 Eugene, I don't agree with Ken, San Dunes are sometimes just a dune!!! It doesn't have to be expansive. This very composed, colors are just excellent and it leads to the sky, which is vast and infinite! Hreat details on the dune and good for composing it, regards, Rajeev Link to comment
yexie 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Hi everyone, thank you so much for your comments and critiques. I was actually excited to see this scene through my view finder. I disagree with Ken's comment that sand dunes are all about expanse. Personally I am very interested in the subtle and subsidiary qualities of a landscape. Eugene Link to comment
frank91664879031 0 Posted January 5, 2007 Rich blue skies, beautiful white sands, wonderful color in the foliage. I particularly like the way the sand is "spilling" down the dune. 7/6 Link to comment
mikestacey 0 Posted January 5, 2007 This would be my favourite of your recent uploads Eugene although they are ALL excellent and different. You've connected the grasses with the background shrubs using the wonderful sidelighting across the sands. Link to comment
