pjduncan 0 Posted January 3, 2007 I have altered the background using photoshop. Please let me know if there is anything that seems distracting or displeasing. I'm just getting the hang of photoshop and doing all the feathering/blending in a realistic way is still a bit tricky for me. Link to comment

Dieter Schaefer 20,360 Posted January 3, 2007 Colors are beautiful. Comparing with the original, I understand why you changed the background. In the above image, I think the background here is a bit too saturated and is pressing in on the birds. Link to comment

andrewcampbell 1 Posted January 5, 2007 Very beautiful. Shadow on the lower left hand corner is a shame. Otherwise perfect photo, in my opinion. Cheers. Link to comment
pjduncan 0 Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions. Dieter... I can see your point about the background. I wish I were better at photoshop because I would like to try some tweaking of the background, but I can never figure out how to isolate the background where I can do light level changes without having a halo effect that then has to be manually removed in many areas. Andrew... yes, I agree about the shadow. In the original, uncropped photo, the situation is much worse since the shadow is actually a very distinct band. I cropped it just enough to remove the transition back to bright. Unfortunately, no way to crop it out entirely. Any suggestions from anyone about how to deal with this would be appreciated. Is it worth trying to lighten it a bit in photoshop... can that be done and have it look good? Link to comment
