A German Shorthaired Pointer goes for a moonwalk.

This is a composite of two images taken the same evening. The moon

and clouds were shot hand-held outside, and the handsome dog was

shot indoors against a black backdrop. The dog is lit from more or

less directly above, using an SB800 triggered by (and assisted on

some fill, dialed way back) the D200's built-in pop-up flash. A

little bit of cut-and-paste, and off we go. I'll be curious to hear

some feedback, so thanks.

It's a beatiful work of art. Personally, I thought the moon was too central, and moved it, to where it lined up with the lighting on the brow and nose. More out of curiousity, than anything. Great shot.

I agree - the moon in the right corner looks much better.

Yep, a great shot of the dog, but the moon seems too central to me too. I like where Doug Bays planted it. Nifty idea and beautiful dog.

Good portrait and an unusual and entertaining image. Good fix on the moon's placement too.

Wherever the moon is, I like it a lot.

 

Since everyone is bitching (?) about the moon, I'd only make it a little less bright, myself.
