traff 0 Posted February 16, 2007 This is a stunning image, thoughtfully and expressively processed to highlight the beauty of the Zebra's dance. Techniques of dodging and burning are well established photographic procedures even in 'traditional' darkroom photography. As such I would consider this image to be 'enhanced' but far from 'manipulated' (though I appreciate that by pnet definition it is)I'm not going to criticise photographers whose aim is to capture 'moment in time' documentary style photographs - they are a valid and relevent form of photography, and many beautiful and moving images have been created in adhering to this style. But the genre is not anyones to dictate and a creative photographer has as much right to their perception of their art as a journalist photographer has to their craft. Link to comment
