markonestudios 4 Posted January 5, 2007 Timeless capture, Colin. This could well have been taken on that fateful day in March 1897, had the 5D and 17-40L existed then ;) Superb framing and excellent exposure, giving a real sense of foreboding and an eerie yet intriguing atmosphere...WOW!Mark Link to comment

home page1 0 Posted January 6, 2007 Very unusual lighting. Looks surreal with that rainbow. Nicely done. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Happy New year my friend! I like how you were able to capture the falling rain and the rainbow. Splendid image. The wreckage appears like pathway to the rainbow. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted January 13, 2007 Your photo is suberb! It's the definition of being at the right place at the right time. Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted January 14, 2007 Excellent photo. Nice to see somebody who is not hiding the camera when he sees some raindrops somewhere. Karl Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 14, 2007 Thanks everyone! Karl. the camera bag and gear got a thorough drying off and careful removal of all the sand and mud after this little jaunt. Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted January 14, 2007 Outstanding capture, right time, right place, love the history lesson. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted February 10, 2007 Well worth getting your toes wet I'd say. Amazing luck/skill at getting the forces of nature to play along. Might've been nice to see a bit less of the sandbar, but not sure if that'd be possible (especially while keeping the rainbow intact) Well done Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 14, 2007 Jeff, I aggre, less sand would have been good :-) but the rainbow was disappearing fast and I only had time for this one shot before it had reduced to almost nothing. And the water to my left was quite deep! Link to comment
ajsanford 0 Posted September 9, 2007 Wow! What a beautiful shot. I think the whole photo is nicely composed. Very beautiful. Regards, Amanda Link to comment
jenkins 0 Posted February 26, 2009 And you got a rainbow i don't believe it :) What a picture this is, i love the sunlight coming through, it's like the rainbow has cut a slice in the clouds, i am surprised they don't try and rescue what is left of this boat Colin. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted November 8, 2009 Still as dramatic as ever, Colin. It's hard to believe that it has been three years since I saw the shots in this folder. I have never seen a rainbow and obvious virga at the same time, I don't think. This is beautiful. --Lannie Link to comment
