I find my eye rests longer on the banding near and above the horizon, probably trying to decide if its a natural occurance or some sort of filter or post processing.

Michael, not quite sure what you are talking about, but the darker tones at the horizon line are clouds and their reflections on the water. This is a silver gelatin print. There is no photoshopping done.
