I have been trying to work on an eddy shot this year. A tough exposure at dawn on a magical

morning complete with some thin mist over Lake Lilla. Specifications : Gitzo tripod, ISO50,

f16, shutter 8 seconds, focal length 17mm.

Excellent composition, the movement of the water in the foreground is beautiful. What I see is that you have been in different places, this is different fron the ones before. Regards

I love it! Excellent color and composition. Exposure is great. The circular swirling of the water in the foreground makes this especially unique. Great shot.

Thanks Jesus & Daniel. I should have mentioned in the specs I needed 2 ND grads to balance out the exposure, a 3 stop hard & a 2 stop soft.

Very good in-camera work, well exposed landscape. The fog is really the "icing on the cake". High quality colors and tones. Astonishing to see no motion blur with 8 sec.

5 stops of ND, that's a lot Kah but it's worked out for you here. I can imagine it would certainly have been tricky - especially when there's mountains or peaks that you don't need to have underexposed within the ND area. The little whirlpool is a real treat.

This is probably your best one ..love the water formation. Was there another shot to emphasize the foreground more (camera at a lower position and close to the water movement)? Just a thought for a different interpretation..

Thank you for critiquing this guys. I was trying to capture Cradle Mountain, an icon in these parts, in a way I had not seen before. Passing through this lake some time ago I realized the possibility of shooting eddies in low light conditions (slow shutter). Arnab, my first instinct too was to use a lower point of view, however this caused the Cradle peak to disappear. This shot is about as low as I could get while retaining the peak in view.

A beautiful place with so many interesting components: the water swirl of the fg lake, the beautiful dawn sky & hills in the distance , the glimpse of reflection on the lake....Lovely place.

I hereby wish you, Winnie & both your families Good health, Prosperity & all the best in all your future endeavouse. Happy new year!
