caz 1 Posted December 26, 2006 The eye of the Black-Headed Heron is yellow for most of the year, but becomes red when breeding, such as this one. Thanx for viewing! Rgds Carole Link to comment

leroy laverman 0 Posted December 26, 2006 Very interesting bird. The red eye is striking. The color balance seems a little off to me. What do you think of the attached? It's really impossible to tell exactly how the colors should be since most people (myself included) don't have calibrated monitors. You have some really nice bird photos in your gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Link to comment
caz 1 Posted December 27, 2006 Thank you for your input Leroy. I do prefer your attachment. I did adjust levels slightly, also increased saturation by 5% and cropped very slightly. I was actually going to leave the pic totally unmanipulated - maybe that's what I should have done. (I see the 3/3 brigade have been at it again! They obviously have no interest in the aesthetic qualities of a beautiful bird in flight, and neither do they realise how difficult it is to get the entire bird in focus and in full frame. Twerps!). Warm regards Carole (and Merry Merries over the Festive Season). Link to comment

jcvpictures 0 Posted October 5, 2007 Another stunning image! the other is very good too. The red eye is a very interesting issue, as some reptiles that change the color of their skin. jc Link to comment
