arash khoshghadam 0 Posted March 1, 2007 Truly a fantastic classic shot displaying the multitudinousness of elements which are in perfect unity with each other as a result of conforming to the similarity and proximity of elements having dominated a large proportion of the frame and having created unity and coherence that make us feel a sort of harmony pulling the various elements together. The three lines on the left side behind the tiller are the culminating point where our eyes are pushed toward by the extravagance of harmonic red-and-blue-spangled expanse of the horticultural farm in contrast with green area on the left side which is in color discordance with the red with imbalanced proportion (The normal proportion of red-green to created harmony through simultaneous contrast is 50-50). The eyes nonetheless find the point to pinpoint- the man which has created emphasis through shape, contrast, recognition, tangent, placement in the frame. and color contrast- a comprehensive gallery of all the emphatic clues. The frame is in astonishing balance through shape, placement, contrast and recognition, too. The perceived movement is yet another eye-catching element that lock the eyes on to the man. The vividness of the dominant two-third is in an eye-catching contrast with the dull background- dull in color and tonality not details since it also offers its own bag of visual clues. The diagonal lines and the irregular shapes which ,even if not succeeding in outwitting the two-third, have proved visually interesting in their own right. The exposure and focus jobs are also the best of what Antino has managed to accomplish, though the flowers at the bottom of the frame are in blur. The solution is easy: A small aperture( f16, for instance), setting the focal length on infinity , and shooting into one-third of the frame, utilizing the HYPERFOCAL DISTANCE. What is probably a bit unsettling is the dark mass on the top right hand corner which is extremely distracting, being dark in tonality and in shape contrast with the collection of straight diagonal lines that have filled the upper 1/3. It sort of competes with the primary point of interest. Not that the phenomenon is always undesirable. Here the mass does not offer visual importance in the frame and doesn't contribute to the aesthetic and compositional arrangement of the visual elements. A little bit of crop there can help transfer the visual importance 100% to the lower 2/3 and make the balance and emphasis on the man impeccably conspicuous. Link to comment

deozmac 0 Posted March 15, 2007 Has a wonderful romantic quality. I think the flowers being unfocussed are fine in this composition. Very original! Link to comment
