Red-Tailed Hawk

This hawk allowed me to approach to almost underneath him. I then

aimed toward the direction I thought he would take off in and waited.

This is the best of three shots I got off. The others were obscured

by tree limbs.

----the barred tail identify it as a first yr. juvenile bird. They sometimes are not as wary as the adults, whose tails are usually solid color of a shade of red.They almost invariably take off into any existing wind. www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=244397
