giggles 0 Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks Alpo & Scott - Of course with this image, I am bias since it is my daughter so thanks for the compliments. I had fun playing with my new camera and Kenna does pretty good "modeling" for me. I am constantly playing with my settings and lights to see the effects and I particularly love close-ups. Happy Holidays to both of you... Emily Link to comment

giggles 0 Posted December 22, 2006 Thanks Tammy - Merry Christmas to you and yours also. I am enjoying figuring out my new camera but man is it heavy. I didn't think I'd notice it but by the time I have my lens and speedlight on it is pretty noticeable. I'll be getting a workout during each sitting. This image was from my very first time using it so I am happy with the results so far... stay tuned for more after the holidays:) Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 22, 2006 Hi Emily. I think I saw a shot of your daughter before and I remember her eyes being lighter. With a little PS adjustment you could lighten them. Or maybe I'm wrong. Well, tell me what you think. Link to comment
giggles 0 Posted December 22, 2006 Oh, yes your version is much closer to her natural color. I tried working on it a little but reverted back because I wasn't happy with my results - I especially think her left eye should be lighter (like your version). Thanks for playing. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 22, 2006 I noticed that the accuracy of eye color and lightness is always a challenge for me out the camera. I seem to always do post processing work to get the color and brightness I want. Link to comment

giggles 0 Posted January 2, 2007 Thanks for commenting and Happy New Year! As I said before, this is one of the first shots that I took with my new camera and am pretty pleased with it. I haven't been the in the studio much since Christmas to play with it though. It is amazing that the D200 is quite different than my D70. I was pretty comfortable with my old camera so now I am trying to figure out this camera. I just did my first sitting yeaterday for someone other than my own children with the d200 and hope to post some of those images by the end of the week. You'll have to let me know what you think. I really am concentrating on the eyes - sharpness, clarity and catchlights. Link to comment
