friedel_rother 0 Posted April 5, 2002 I love the sea of guards, fading into the background on this shot, taken during the Queen Mother's funeral procession in London. What do you think? Link to comment
nigel whitaker 0 Posted April 5, 2002 I have to say, that the Guardsman (they're Scot's Guards by the way)on the left of the frame is missing an arm that would have been better left in. Whether it was cropped or just not there on the original frame, I don't know, but a complete figure at the frame edge would have been more 'complete'. Also, it's probably a personal thing, but I think the framework item towards the right of the frame creates an extra area beyond it that weakens the whole image. Perhaps a closer crop in the horizontal, to exclude the framework item, and make the image more centered on a repeated pattern (the break in the pattern really draws the eye to the object, which isn't really significant in this context anyhow, and the Guardsman closest to the metal framework is slightly taller than the ones in front, further 'breaking the line') Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 13, 2002 This is an almost very good stock image. Needs more depth of field and the cropping at left seriously weakens the image. Meanwhile...why the the hell do these guys wear the huge hats, 19th century uniforms but carry modern assault rifles?! Link to comment
