I can't really tell if he's looking at me or not... if you say it's a deep look , then I'll just have to take your word for it! hahaha - great shot!! I love the DOF, the fact the shell is unfocused - it really gives all the attention to the head - and this is the first time I've really seen a snails head this close up - weird little creature!! Thanks for sharing a terrific image!!

This is a really eye catching photo, i agree the DOF works very well as does the placement of the subject... nicely done.
