w.tompkins 0 Posted December 10, 2006 This image was composited to show the detail in the moon while still maintaining the star trail aspect of the shot. I want to know if anyone has any problems with the shot. thank you Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 10, 2006 Interesting combination of moving stars and "static" moon. Have no problem with the concept. I like the colors of the stars as opposed by the gray moon. Best regards. Peter Link to comment
shimon_gonen 0 Posted May 21, 2007 Nice way to capture time in 2D, I'm a novice - how did you capture the stars through time yet the moon seems static? Link to comment
w.tompkins 0 Posted May 21, 2007 Shimon, all I did was take two seperate exposures; one for the moon (around basic daylight exposure), and one for the stars (around 5 minutes with a 70mm lens). The final step is to merge the two images in PS using layers with some pretty simple circular layers masks. Hope that helps. Have Fun. Link to comment
