This is actually very potential photo but the composition is too open. Some photogs do say though that you need context photos too. Anyway, my suggested crop is attached above. Good photo in any case.

Some good things to remember with any photo genre:

- Base points (corners, thirds)

- Golden mean or thirds splitting

- Triangles

- Eye lead with three key points

- Diagonals

- Harmonious and opposite colors

- Depth Of Field -control (DOF) to pop the target

- Less is better i.e. tight compositions

Here more about Golden ratio. Thirds is just simplified method of it. Also to remember is the fold position in an opening of a mag.

ps. Seems it is "golden ratio" and not "golden mean" (philosophy related).
