perfect situation for a hard-edged 2 stop grad ND filter. You've got no detail in the foreground, and it looks like it probably was a very interesting one to boot.

I think Paul's right, I would like to see more detail in the foreground. The photo is very good otherwise, has an alien feel to it. I like the purple sky!

I would be very happy if I would have this picture! I think it's just perfect. To me the stepstones are enough detail and lead you to the light.

 

yes indeed an ND gradient would work wonders. If you were using a digital I would say tyou should have taken 2 photos, one of the sky and one of the rocks and combined them in photoshop. Photoshop is an ND gradient filter too! ;)
