I think this is a nice portrait with or without the edit. The eye coloration is very clean, though. You did a good job not messing up the highlights in the eyes with a blue tint. Did you layer the existing eye color over BW to get this effect, or was the color added by brush?

I coloured in the eyes by selecting it with the magic wand and filling in with a overlay at 50%. Thanks

Thanks for the info Karl. It was done really well. I'm just getting started with Photo Shop. More often than not, I'm using it to adjust poor exposures though, or trying to make less appealing photos more interesting. Your photo would have been appealing without the color edit, but the color does give it a nice creative kick.
