St Michaels Mount

davidclapp

This is a combination of two exposures that I blended to cope with the extreme light from a hard midday winter sun. The sand patterns were quite unbelievable with some of the strangest patterns I had seen caused by water movement flowing underneath the sand from a small stream to the right.EOS 5D, 17-40.

Fantastic! The only nit I have in this day of HDR is that the sky is quite bright arond the land mass in the distance. With HDR I think you could have created another take on this that might have been better. None the less the foreground on this is stunning and worthy of an image all by itself. Great portfolio David.

Yes I am in full aggreement; this shot was taken in the whitest of low inter sun at midday. The end result was something I thought was completely impossible to blend, I totally forgot about this shot for months.I am really luck to get what I did really, but on the other side of technical criticism it does give the castle a glow!

Yup, the bottom line is that it is STILL a fantastic image and yes it does glow! The more I look at it the more I love it...
