arnold de beer 0 Posted December 1, 2006 In South Africa we call sneakers: "Tekkies". This guy was begging next to the road and said he needed new "Tekkies". I looked down and couldn't resist taking a photo ....... I then contributed to his "Tekkie fund" Link to comment

j.k._york 0 Posted December 1, 2006 see, i would find these probably to be most comfortable and be loathe to get rid of them, but my wife would throw them away in the night as i slept thinking them safe :-) nice angle with yellow line through frame. great texture too. the red rim really enhances this shot. well seen and executed. regards, J.K. richardbarnard 0 Posted December 1, 2006 hi Arnold - great shot, I really like this one, the slight angle really makes it.Thanks for taking the time to visit my portfolio & leave comments. Most of the colours are as they were but following recent critiques on some of my photos I have been experimenting with increasing the contrast & this certainly seems to make the colours 'pop out' more.I also tend to use the unsharp mask with greater intensity than usual prior to posting. Look forward to seeing more of your work. Cheers Richard. Link to comment

jh de beer 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I like this photo for the contradictions, the colours and the angle. Well spotted and the most important part was to press the shutter. Just watch out that you don't inadvertently contribute your D80 to any other fund so famous in the Jo'burg area. If I had to nitpick I would have preferred that the right tekkie did not touch the border. Maybe a less tight crop to give the tekkie some breathing space (yeah, that sounds clever!) - as if you want to do that! Seriously, just a few pixels of tar road between the toe and the border. Otherwise, good shot. JH Link to comment
