El Condor 1

My husband and I were having breakfast outdoors at a farmer's market

in Quebec City when we heard military music. I rushed over and

found a formal ceremony in progress with the marching band from the

sailing ship Esmeralda, part of the Armada de Chile. This very

striking man was the drum major. To me, he looked even more like a

condor than the stylized one on the prow of his ship.

 

Should I have shortened the depth of field to make the background

less obtrusive on this shot?

Excellent and very intense capture. I don't mind the sailer's faces in the background at all. I would crop some off the top (to the top of the hat) and bottom (up to just below the V neck opening on blouse).
