swampthing 0 Posted November 29, 2006 is this a photoshop composite? There's something very odd about the eagle and the water. The lighting and coloring between teh 2 aren't consistent and the splash is much too big for the bird and his position in relation to the splash don't look natural. The splash wouldn't be that big still either from where he currently is. THis really really looks like a photoshop comp to me. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 29, 2006 there is apsolutly NO photoshop or montage here what so ever !!! you are totally wrong on this one . I have no idea about phisics, size of splash and all that but ,I can give you my word as professional photographer that RAW file is preaty much the same ... I did saturated the colors , levels and all usual staff , and made diagonal composition to get more action ... In raw file bird is shot that uper line of the wings are horizontal ... I'm fashion photographer and don't know much about eagles, but this guy came in really fast and strong and hit the water ... I didn't add any water drops, in fact this is crop and in full format there is even biger splash visible . So about a size you are out of track totally . he did made very big splash ... now its up to you to belive me or not but after all I have raw file to prove ... As I mentioned I do fashion photography for living and animal shots are my hobby . I'm really very ,very proud of this shot , this is my first shoting of eagles in my life ... I shot this in island of Lanzarote ,where I was on bussines shoting pictures of some fashion catalogue . In free time I went to local nature parc and made few animal shots for fun .. I have no problem with ading things in PS but really here it was absoluzly no need to add anithing . Maybe I was crazy lucky or something but this picture is straight from camera ... Link to comment
flynn 4 Posted November 29, 2006 Fantastic shot! Only nature and wildlife photographer understand why is this photo so good. Where it is photographed and with what lens? Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted November 29, 2006 this picture is taken in nature parc in Lanzarotte island with 100mm lens ( on my canon 20D that would be 160mm ) . I know that 100mm for this sound outrages but he came very close to me and he was not concerned about human presents near . guards in the parc feed him and tourists visit parc so he was not paying much attencion to my presents . picture is not croped much . my full frame covered area from left to right when he had spread wings . so this is about 50% crop Link to comment

d-h 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Sorry but BLOODY HELL.....This has got to be the 'King of The Eagle' images that I've ever seen. A Bird of Prey missile launched and theres no mistaking it's set to ATTACK. Simply perfect Dean. Take it easy boss Daren Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,230 Posted November 29, 2006 I love this shot as is obvious from my first comment higher up. I admit I had some doubts about this being an original and not a photoshop composite. The use of a 100mm lens and the closeness to the action as stated by the photographer seems to explain the amazing DOF in this shot, which would be simply impossible had a long tele being used. I also agree with the idiocy of the 3 rating but I see it all the time. There is something wrong with photo.net, some kind of automatic rating, as I have received a 3 rating about 2 second after submitting a picture for critique (just enough time to submit and go to the gallery main page to see it come up there).
