Dean, This is a great shot. It does have a bit of an unreal look to it but I think you have made a good case that it's not a composite. Very impressive.

tnx for your compliment then :o) .. look , I'm profesional photographer , at this point all my colegue photographers in Crotia saw this picture , today we have our weekly miting in one pub in Zagreb .I will bring that card and show them original raw from the card in the camera( that really can't be manipulated or changed ) . do you really think that I will risk my reputation after all this statements here to become some patetic liar to them ( and rest of the world ) over one picture :o) ... you off course are free to not belive me ... I'm actually relly becoming very flatered of this "it's to good to be real" statemants ...

 

I'm very happy and gratefull about huge response and attencion this picture get here, and elswhere I show it . tnx very much to all ppl who find time to coment ... now after a week I shot this, I'm more and more clear that this is best picture I ever made ... :o)

I have seen a lot of eagle shots like this and all of them great. but it is the color and quality of water in this shot that really attracted me. fantastic catch.

What can you say except excellent. Great timing, exposure, framing, and all. What I can not understand is the person who rated this a 3/3.

Strong original image and even stronger after some cropping and color adjustments. Fantastic job and one to be proud of. Frameworthy most certainly.

I know that you are a professional photographer and I've already seen your great photos elsewhere. You must be proud of this photo, because comparing fashion photos with this one is irrelevant. I have never seen better photo of the eagle - EVER!

......Of wich I like the low shooting angle and the fact that the eagle does come towards you very much. It's really a good shot and I am certain that except for some color adjustments and cropping, there is'nt any photoshop work in this image, but you don't have to be very lucky to take a shot like this because it's a captive eagle. He is feeded by his trainer and the only thing you have to do is go and sit near the pond they throw some bite in and the eagle will come and get it out of there.

Dean, if I had something I thought was the shot of my life I would hate someone could find reason to think it is just the photo of a well-lit stuffed eagle pasted on a scenery! Then why not doing what you do with your colleagues and replace the pic with whatever crop you wish of that RAW file with just the very essential brightness-contrast and saturation adjustments? If it is real it will probably *look* real, and that should dispel any doubts once and for all ;)
