Guest Guest Posted November 24, 2006 I've tried shooting ladybirds quite often but never got a shot half as good as this. Lovely colours and composition is sound - I think it does look a little bit oversharpened though. The pic looks great so I'd just advice less drastic steps in photoshop - if it aint broke, dont fix it! Link to comment

jon thornton 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Fritz, I'm repeating Martin a bit, but this afternoon I tried photographing lady bugs and I completely failed. You did very well to control the specular highlight on the bug's shell. This makes me wonder how you lit this shot. My first thought was that you shot the bug under high overcast. Then I thought light tent and/or softbox. So, what light did you use? Link to comment
