alberto botella 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Digitally composed as the plane was on the ground at the Maritime Museum in Greenwich. The Harrier Jump Jet is the worlds only vertical take off and landing jet fighter. It was developed by the British in an era of financial cutbacks which saw the end of the large Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers. It can use airfields on land or fly from smaller aircraft carriers at sea and is flown by the best US and British pilots. It combines the best aspects of a helicopter with those of a fighter jet. For example, the world speed record for a helicopter is 249 mph (Linx helicopter) whilst the Harrier can fly at 730 mph. Your Comments and ratings are welcome. Link to comment
neilpeters 0 Posted November 23, 2006 This is superb Alberto. Just as impressive, you saw this plane sitting in display and realized you could make it work. Very effective light and composition puts it in flight. Link to comment
gdw 0 Posted November 23, 2006 Alberto, to echo Neil, superb. The diagonal placement, the green reflections with the slight greenish tint to the lower clouds, the in you face size of the plane within the frame are all handled very artistically. I just wish there was a sliver of air above the nose so that the image did not kiss the edge of the frame. Link to comment
