eric stolk 0 Posted November 23, 2006 i'm missing something here... and even if you were trying to shoot 'nothing', i'm missing that! Link to comment
eric stolk 0 Posted November 23, 2006 First off all: thank you for commenting my work, i really appreciate it. Second: i'm not trying to be a wise-crak here, nor do i try to suggest that i have all the wisdom in my pocket. The things i wrote were sort of critique, but i'm not trying to put you down, certainly not. It's really really complicated, the subject matter (for me it is!) but i'll try to explain... For the past 7 or 8 months, i'm trying to photograph 'nothing', and yet, it is NOT nothing. Why is it not nothing? I don't know. Sometimes it's the light, a stain, a beaten track, some circles in water etc. etc. It seems nothing, but still i (and hopefully others) 'see' a lot happening. Maybe because i'm sensitive to implications... Trying not to sound arrogant, but this picture lacks that tension field and i am missing that. Maybe it was not at all your intention, but i'm missing 'something'...So this picture would not meet my criteria (or would not have been taken, by me) Are you still with me? The longer i look at it though, the better it gets. The composition is correct. Just looked for that little je-ne-sais-quois and didn't find it Regards, Rick Link to comment
