Diagonal- Modified

I took this in the Tonto National Forest. Please give me your

thoughts and comments.

Despite the drama of the skyline the eye struggles with the wisps of straw in the foreground. Either give them their due or burn, baby, burn! Nice geometry.

So if that's a national forest, where are all the trees?

Ed, the photo as I see it on my screen is too given to the middle values. There is no true black or white here, that I can see. Higher contrast post processing or waiting for it in the real world would make this image more compelling. Also the scrub in the foreground works against the drama implied in the cliff lines.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I agree with Peter's comment about the range of tones of the image. I re-calibrated my monitor and adjusted the levels.
