jorge_galan 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Many exposures were made before getting this one. I'd appreciate any suggestions/critiques. I've purposely posted the "non-cropped" version. Thanks Link to comment
larry w 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Nice catch ... I especially like the way the on-deck hitter is trying to time the pitcher. My only critique is that your focus point seems to be on the stands behind the batter (on the people there) rather than on the batter/catcher/ump, which makes the shot unsharp. I'd have focused on the ump or catcher (I'm assuming you used a tripod and just clicked away pitch after pitch) as they are more static targets. Link to comment
jorge_galan 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Thanks, Larry. I actually did not use a tripod and was couched down at a (hopefully) safe distance in front of the dugout. I had similar concerns about the people in the bleachers, especially the guy standing up, which I feel pulls the eye away from the batter. Your comment about the on-deck hitter is interesting. tgood 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Jorge, thanks for pointing out your collection. Baseball is really hard to shoot, but rewarding when you get a good shot sometimes. I love getting shots like this when the baseball is captured in the shot. Was this this the Fall Baseball? You asked about the mound in my picture. It is a portable, but the event was at the city park. They use the same field for all leagues including softball, so for the youngsters, they have to use the portable mound. I'd like to add some photos to my collection online, but I should get some parental permission first I suppose. I'll let you know if I get some OK's. Link to comment
tgood 0 Posted November 17, 2006 Jorge, I have hundreds of photos from this season's fall baseball. Not one of them captured the bat kissing the baseball like this one. Great job! I did upload a handful of baseball photos from baseball. Terry Link to comment
