jefvandenhoute 0 Posted November 12, 2006 Pavel Just a homework...? I wish I could make allways this kind of homeworks. Very creative and original image. The rather monochrome brownish tint add to the strength of this image, concentrating on the contrast between the model and the antique statue. The two windows are just perfect to give a beautifull sogt ligth setting Link to comment

hekate 0 Posted November 12, 2006 Nice manipulation, although I cannot understand the message either... Did you plan to "revisit" the chapel theme, attaching it to apparently incompatible experiences bringing subversion (eroticism - the statue of Venus plus the woman-, iconoclastic invasions of space-the graffiti on the walls of the once sacred place-now abandoned ?) ? It makes me think somehow of an anthropologist who said something about the body who took the place of the deceased soul... Link to comment

ppotocek 0 Posted November 12, 2006 Thanks to all for your comments. Hekate: I don't plan to "revisit" this theme. But I wish the image could generate so many questions as your remark about the unknown anthropologist ... Thanks. Link to comment
hekate 0 Posted November 12, 2006 Thank you for your quick answer, Pavel. The image generated questions and this is the purpose of art. Congratulations on the intriguing approach !(the anthropologist I was referring to was Philippe Perrot) There's a time for the soul, a time for the body as representation, a time for the body as instinctual statement... and a time for all these together... Where can we place sexuality ? Should we keep separating it from the other values ? Could Sexuality be a value in itself (like Religion-the chapel-, like Art-the statue...) ? And the questioning never stops.. very thought-provoking. Link to comment
jyves 0 Posted November 12, 2006 I like the ambiguity of that picture, very well done. Yves Link to comment
