olafdevries 0 Posted November 13, 2006 Emilia.. I suppose the idea came afterwards. Not talking about the format, thinking it (on it's own, as it is) a difficult one. But watching, I got the next idea..: the same with a strong, nutral background.. a more military look of walking.. or just jeans.. so, more uniformed.. might work very well! Must to be found! Station, subway, factory etc.etc. Next I would look for a different title - word, with nearly the same meaning. Automatic is making me thinking of a battery on the back or a key.. And every leg and foot having "the same" Think perhaps of wheeled, driven, instructed, longing for.. (pants are less important here) etc. (my first reaction wasn't serious at all) Olaf Link to comment
DrewBayless 3 Posted November 17, 2006 This reminds me of the relentless, unthinking march commuters undergo to work. The use of the panoramic format and compositional focus on just the legs is interesting and, - especially with your quite suggestive/descriptive title - gets the idea across quite well. Maybe cropping the legs at extreme left might help the idea? (they look sort of stopped to me) Also behind the guy in black suit it looks like someone has stopped. These little details take away from the relentless forward motion a bit IMHO. I like how three of them have their leg angles exactly the same. That suggests uniformity and conformity also, and adds some extra aesthetic interest. I look forward to seeing more in the series! regards, Drew. Link to comment
