colin carron 58,916 Posted November 16, 2006 Matt thanks. I diud the previous one in B&W and liked this one for colour though the cyan sky is a bit in your face. Lou Ann, gald you like the math(s) here. I am helping Matt with his GCSE maths (age 16) so am a bit off maths at present! Kim, thanks, yes I think the figures help with the 'alive' bit. The stone lion was a bit less alive.:-) Amar, I saw it more as a metaphor for the way everyone shares the same space but I like your take just as well. Carsten, I think Hans' view has a lot of merit but those of us who like wide angle effects (like us) maybe will go for the extravagance. To me the w/a shot expresses the feeling I was after of the roof stretching out to protect everyone beneath it. Paula, thanks, hope you are not feeling too dizzy! Jayme, thanks. The roof structure is impressive isn't it? I imagine it is a shell structure where the weight of the glass is carried along the interconnecting metal arches. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted November 17, 2006 An Architectural Marvel :) I'd love to read or see a documentary about how this ceiling was accomplished :) Simply amazing. You'd find me sitting on the floor, gazing intently at the ceiling. I'd have a hard time moving on to the antiquities :) It's overwhelmingly beautiful! Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted November 20, 2006 Colin your architectural shots are more and more impressive. This one is simply stunning. The lighting is just about perfect under the magic of this ceiling. I liked what Hans did, but from my view, your version feels epic, if not, hallucinatory. I would not change a thing other than the scale, which I would want on the order of 30x20 (inches over here!!!). Beautiful work Colin. Link to comment

sallycd 0 Posted November 25, 2006 The colors are great and the picture is neat. Color contrast are the strong point of your photo. I just adored that ceiling... Link to comment
