bentes_world 0 Posted November 6, 2006 .... and I wonder if people really know what this is? Damn that rating system. I don't know of many that would know how to photograph this ( me included) and even have the patience to do it. I only have one - silly - question. Are the star trails really going that round in a circle? Is it the move in 6 hours? My greatest respect. Link to comment
dbrossy 0 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Bobby. I have done some light painting myself. It take lots of practice I like your results. And Damn the raiting system. Link to comment
copeg 0 Posted November 6, 2006 Great shot Bobby. It takes patience and talent to set up shots like these. My only critique, and its a matter of my taste rather than anything else, is that the foreground tree seems to take up a good deal of the frame. Perhaps if it were a tad further in the distance? (I know how hard it is to compose something like this, so this is just a thought - and I don't even know whether it would make any improvement on this great shot) You should be proud of this one. Print in large and hang it proud! Greg Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted November 7, 2006 Absobloodyfuckinglutely brilliant. If you're printing, I want one. Link to comment
bobby douglas 0 Posted November 7, 2006 The trails are as round as the earth is. The reason they are not round in some shots is optical or digital/post processing distortion of some type. The trails were burning on and off for 6 hours as the clouds came across the sky. Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted November 8, 2006 A total of (15) 3's and 4's were given to this image. This place has become Photo.lowballnet. Bobby, do you have a few extra beers to pass around? Good stuff here. Link to comment

PeterKrenek 26 Posted November 12, 2006 Great shot, Bobby. I wonder how you achieve correct exposure of lightpainted areas. Is there a way to control this or is this just a lot of experience you had to gather ? Best regards. Peter Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted June 30, 2007 Just brilliant! You get the double-7s for the image, and for the effort. It really is the record of nearly one night in a still image! Wow! Just brilliant. Cheers! Chris P.S. My mom and pop owned a B&B in Ouray for about 15 years. I love the San Juans! Link to comment
