lonebearimages 0 Posted December 13, 2006 Kim, I like the last version the best too. It really is an incredibly creative image and superbly composed. Someone will snap it up! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted December 13, 2006 OK, I may have used up my tokens by now. I didn't ask this before and not asking for specifics. Did you do the desaturate > invert tango for this?Warm Regards, Dave Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 17, 2006 The last version is the one that went in the gallery and it sold! Framed it in a barnwood frame. Dave, I know I did one layer with desaturate/sepia, then brought back some of the color from below. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted December 17, 2006 That's wonderful news...congrats! Have a very merry, south Texas Christmas! :) Leslie Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks, Leslie - a little more shopping to do today! I made some gifts this year - notecards - and friends seem to like getting them, so that helps. Link to comment
ashokbpatkar 0 Posted January 8, 2007 In all the three versions the imposing presence of the bird takes the breath away; but in the last version you have injected life in to the bird by adding colours. So for me the last version is the best. I cannot get the bird; with its eyes rivetted on the shrimp-boat, out of my mind! A superb job indded!! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Thanks, Ashok. This is one of my favorites - I'll have to reprint it as the framed one sold. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted January 11, 2007 Hi Kim! How did this do at the Gallery? It is a great Note Card Photo!Dave Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 11, 2007 It sold, Dave. I think I had it up for $225, framed. Some lady bought it for herself for Christmas. She wanted to know the story behind it (it was at the gallery open house, so I happened to be there). I told her where it was taken and how I did it from two photos and she said she loved it. Next thing I knew, it was being taken off the wall and she happily carried it off. That's cool when you can see someone actually buying your work. :) Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted September 5, 2010 That's a truly fantastic shot! Your original version is the best in my humble opinion. Glad to know you sold it. Best regards, Alain Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted September 7, 2010 Thanks, Alain. I have now sold several copies of this. Still one of my favorites. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted June 21, 2012 Still one of my favorite's too Kim. I've been away for several years in another photo community, it's great seeing your work holding up to the test of time. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 28, 2012 Thanks, Dave. Not on here much, either, but I like to have the collection of my images over the years. I usually post on Facebook now, to my photography page. However, the quality of uploads is much better on PN! Link to comment
