sawicki 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Beautiful artistic work. The lighy is magnificent. Lots of work here. And the scene itself - with its symbolic, a lonely child sitting in light is simply amazing. Great work. Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted November 3, 2006 I think this would have been much stronger if the photographer had not created the Photoshop light rays streaming in from the left. The reason is, of course, that it is obvious that the sun is setting/rising over the far mountains in the background. I can accept some amount of artistic interpretation of a scene but, in this creation, the light rays from the upper left do not make sense. They could just as easily be coming from an alien spaceship hovering out of the frame. Also, the illumination of the midground lake seems to be too great for having the sun behind the mountains. This comment is not meant to deprecate the artist's efforts; it is what I try to look for in my own work. Regards. Link to comment
James Kazan 17 Posted November 3, 2006 I was figuring that this was a planet with in a binary star system. The planet is in a position where one star is either rising or setting and the other star is at the 1:00 or 2:00pm time frame we use here on Earth. Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted November 4, 2006 I just read your response back at my portfolio page to my above comment. I am happy that you took it in the spirit that I intended: that is, to try to help another photographer. I should have started my previous comment by saying that your concept was a worthy one to pursue, and as you had said, being "...representative of an idea...", that it was a very good idea to try to develop. Examining your other works I found your Museum of Contemporary Art photograph in your Archetecture folder. What a wonderful gem! In my opinion it is one of your best photographs, but that would come as no surprise considering your background in Archetectural science. Regards Link to comment
