davidmccracken 2 Posted November 1, 2006 The quest for amusement in the suffering of others is something I will never understand! Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted November 2, 2006 I don't view this the same as David expressed. This is reality, as happens every day on the highways. I have a son who is a new driver. I will show him this to remind him of what could happen. Where is the amusement here? Link to comment
scot_cross 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Well lets see it is documentry but I guess I would try and think of it as if it was your daughter or son hanging out of that windshield. I beleive some descretion should have been used here and maybe put a postage stamp there or use a burn/dodge tool prior to posting it to the public. The pic does have its place in its entirety someplace but descretion should be used when posting peoples loved ones in this manner to a place where people arent seeking out that much detail. I spent some time in Iraq but I wouldn't post all the pictures I took while there nor would I want to do it here. Link to comment
jeepers52002 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I agree maybe some editing should have been done specifically for this site. And as stated, this has its place maybe in a presentation for driver's ed... Nothing gets a 16 year old's attention like this. This is the type of photographer I am; documentary. I haven't achieved art in my photography yet. I can appreciate this. And as the father of a 10 year old daughter, I'll store a copy of this away for when she's starting to drive. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
sweeney 0 Posted November 2, 2006 As a firefighter I have seen tradgedy like this and worse many times. I have pictures of vehicles that make this one look new. It does catch the attention and used properly is a great tool to teach young drivers (and old alike) the harsh responsibility of driving. However I would urge you to show restraint when it comes to bodies, out of respect for families and personal privacy. Save this one for your kids. I would be livid if this were one of my family members. Link to comment
tobyduffill 0 Posted November 2, 2006 This is as the event happened, it's real and though it is gory I commend you for putting it on in the full content without modification. I do not see any humour, I do see reality. Condolences to the persons family. Link to comment
