Guest Guest Posted March 26, 2002 It's an exercise to document mural art in San Francisco.Whenever energy is tranduced one product is going to be distortion. On the other hand, without that act of transduction there would be no image of this mural art to share with you.Which would you prefer? Link to comment
marktomaras 0 Posted April 5, 2002 Well, it's not so much a matter of sharing or not sharing...photographing artwork is a tricky situation. I do like what you have included in the frame, the tree, the hydrant; they help to make the photograph yours. The worst is when a photographer lines up the image perfectly and blandly reproduces the artwork in a photo. Perhaps that would work for an artist's slide show of his work. What I would like to see here, and what would make the photo yours completely is a human element interacting with the mural. Perhaps a tourist, an old woman, something that would add an emotional experience like incredulity or even rapture. Do you agree? Link to comment
johnsloan 0 Posted July 27, 2002 Tris, I like the composition and agree with previous post that including the tree and the fire hydrant do add important elements to this mural. I also would like to see another attempt at this with possibly you standing off to the right and staring up at that wonderful eye. Question, how do you keep the color from shifting horrendously with a 75 second exposure? Is it a filter during exposure, or fine tuning in photo shop post exposure? By the way, what happened to you? I haven't seen you leave any comments in POW in quite some time. I used to look forward to it every week. Link to comment
