snapshot1 0 Posted October 31, 2006 Great capture & ecellent composition. The only thing I might do is bring out a bit of detail or texture in the dark foreground. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted November 1, 2006 Great clouds and light on the peak. I'd suggest that you crop about 50% of the dark bottom. Doing so would remove part of the image that is not contributing anything visually, and it would focus even more attention on the clouds. Maybe you have some additional shots that are just a bit wider (to the left) and in which the camera is tilted up a bit more -- that would be my choice. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted November 1, 2006 James, another outstanding image in your portfolio. Great capture of an interesting and colorful sky at sunrise on the photogenic Long's Peak. I think what I really like about your stuff is that you don't manipulate the heck out of everything. Nice job! Best regards, Chris Link to comment
jamesg 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Thanks Stephan! Great suggestion! I don't have any images that go further to the left other than 16mm wide angle shots (this was at ~70mm). I did try cropping the darkest of the bottom and brought in more from the top that I had previously cropped the top. I am attaching the finished product. Thanks again for your help! lonebearimages 0 Posted November 3, 2006 James, re the crop you've posted - it is definitely an alternative, although in my opinion, with the amount of bright and incredibly powerful sky in this image you almost need to have the dark contrast to provide the eye some balance. Again, I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with your landscape images. I keep looking at them trying to learn from each and every one. Best, Chris Link to comment
torfinn 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Great shot James. Good colours, and composition. Nice powerful sky, and I like that dark parts. I think the picture need that contrast. Thanks for your kind comments. Best regards from Sweden! Link to comment
