It is an interesting photo. Beautiful evening sky with black silhouettes of statues and some roofs. However, there is a catch when showing pictures like this to strangers: the sky immediately catches the eyes, but the rest is an unknown...so the viewer goes "well, the sky is great, but what are the black shapes?" That might kind of frustrate the viewer, or make him say "well, nice sky, but what are the black shapes?" You, Jan, know what it is, but others don't. That's why, I think, it's important to describe the picture in the comments a little bit better, so the viewer can have an idea what the shapes represent. If I'm not mistaken, then it's photographed from Karluv most, yes? I can see the roof of the National Theater and, very dimly Vltava River with most Legii (former most 1.maje). I would give this picture six out of seven, but I know what it represents. If I were a complete stranger to that place, I would give it fewer points, because I would have no idea what the big black shape on the left-hand side was. By the way, it is funny - we share the same country of birth, and your camera is FZ5, mine is FZ7 :-) Technically, this photo is good. As to conveying a meaning, it might be a little bit lost. However, in my opinion, a better picture description would fix it. Tedy abych to trochu zopakoval cesky. Ja si myslim, ze u fotkach veci ktere nejsou zrovna nejlepe rozeznatelne pro cizince, je dulezite tu fotku popsat trochu vic. Me se ta fotka moc libi, ale ja vim co znamena. Uznej, Honzo, ze kdyz se na ni kouknes ocima naprosteho cizince, tak Ti to sousosi vpredu bude zahadne - co to je? Ja si myslim, ze kdyz lidi nedokazou rychle rozlousknout co ta fotka (ci jakykoliv umeni) znamena, tak je to muze odradit. Technicky je ta fotka velmi dobra. Ale pokud jde o umelecky pocit, tak divak muze byt trochu popleteny. Myslim si, ze lepsi popsani te fotky (nez jen "kvartet") by to zpravilo, protoze pak by cizi divak si uz mohl domyslet - aha, tak ten hlavni cerny tvar je vlastne sousosi nejaky lidicek. Thank you for your description, yes it's sculpture on Charles bridge in Prague. Next time, I'll provide more informations.
