mrgud 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Image is unmanipulated in postproduction...this is some sort of paning technique... Shutter was about 1/15 and while open camera was moved up... Thanks... Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted October 30, 2006 I like the result. Check out Mr. Barclay's image which has some similarities. Link to comment

barclayphoto 0 Posted October 30, 2006 It's interesting because I just did some of this stuff with some white sky and was not sure how I felt about the sky. I was feeling okay about it and this one confirms that I must go with my gut. I think white sky in these type of images works whereas in a "traditional" shot it does not. Link to comment
mrgud 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Yep... I also have doubt about this skies and try to mute it somehow but I didn't find apropriate way to do that so I just let it go... I still have doubts but it seams that people like it... :) Link to comment

mrgud 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I like this! :)) In photoshop you done this? How exactly? I see it is not simple "moving blur"... :) Also try USM with at least 30 pix (actualy between 20 and 100 pix, amound 50-100, and some treshold as you like) on full size image and see what will happen... I think it will look like hand painting... Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I took the straight photograph, then copied the background layer. On the copied layer I applied vertical motion blur, then adjusted the layer opacity so the sharp layer showed through. I merged the visible layers then applied an optikverve virtual photogapher filter (see OptikVerve Labs.com. At least I think that's what I did (I don't keep very good documentation). -s You should download the VirtualPhotographer filters. They are legitimate free plugins for photoshop and are a lot of fun to play with. I sometimes even make something I like with them. Link to comment
ricardo navarro 0 Posted November 23, 2006 I believe this one is even better: even more balanced and, as I said in the previous comment, that sky's white harmonizes better than the blue with the browns and greys to me. Very nice how the highlights turned out here: they truly look like brush strokes and overall the picture definitely feels like an impressionistic painting. Perfect, not a flaw. Excellent job and a beauty which I would be proud to have achieved myself! Link to comment
