kellyphillips 0 Posted October 29, 2006 It's amazing what this frame did for this shot of a pond located in my favorite place on Earth. This farm is very special to me. It will go up for auction next weekend and I will never get to hike its' 400 acres again. I have alot of good memories here. This photo is probably already my favorite out of my whole collection. I hope that you can see the emotion here. Thanks for looking! Link to comment

alyciaj 0 Posted May 31, 2007 I really like this picture. I think you did a great job (I'm a sucker for b&w). I think your love for this place helped you to capture its beauty. Link to comment
steve_solomon2 0 Posted August 25, 2007 Hi Kelly. Your image very much reminds me of Ansel Adams' work! Great composition and lighting. If I may ask, what equipment and technique do you use to achieve b/w? (I started out in b/w many years ago, and used virtually every b/w film/developer combo available. Now into digital, I've experimented in Photoshop, but have yet to achieve that same quality/tonality I got with Kodak Technical Pan film and Technidol, HC-110 or Ilford and Rodinal, for example.) kellyphillips 0 Posted August 25, 2007 What a compliment Steve! My black and whites were all born out of frustration. I shoot everything in color then convert in PS. I use the channel mixer to actually turn image black and white then I always adjust the contrast to get the look I want. That's pretty much it. This image was different. I used a IR filter on my lens and shot Black and white in camera. Very little photoshop here, mostly just on the frame and maybe some cropping. Take care. Link to comment
