Good photo, I like the slightly distorted image (due to the reflection) and the colour (incandescent light bulbs?). You did very well with the framing for a 'shot from the hip' - that's you discreetly holding the camera, right?

It would be worth experimenting with some cropping, i.e. cut off the blank space on the left hand side. Download Picasa 2 from Google (free!) and you can have some fun trying the different options with your photos.

Have you thought of trying street photography? (do a Google search if you are not familiar with the concept .... but you are doing it already by the looks of your photo!)

P.S. Did everyone spin around and look at you when they heard the shutter? If you want to be really discreet think about getting a rangefinder camera - very quiet and excellent for street photography. You can buy a Yashica Electro 35 (uses film!!) for as little as $10.00 US - amazing cameras, sharp, fast lens, and they love low light situations. They may be 30+ years old, but they were made to last.

These comments are very helpful. I think I will play around with this photo and try the camera you mentioned. I think street photography would produce very interesting images. Thanks for your advice (and I don't think they even knew that I took the picture - it was kind of loud).
