williammccarey 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Last image I saw of yours was an old cabin covered with bright viney flowers. I see your love of bright colors remains unchanged (good!). I think the pros will be upset because of the perspective. Your light pole on the right is nicely vertical but the building on the left is tilted. This is a no-no. You gotta get the perspective centered such that both sides come out vertical or make sure both are out of vertical the same angle. It says that this is the rule in Technical Phototography for Clinical Nitpickers 101. In this case, I think you needed to be more to the right and further back. Outside of the leaning tower of Charlottesville, this is a bright, pretty, documentary of Main Street evolution. Link to comment

williammccarey 0 Posted February 6, 2007 Deborah, I looked at your second image and I guess I would prefer the first one. The lamps look kinda strange just popping out of the edge of the image. I think your angle is going to be too severe if you want a vertical building and a vertical lamp post. Sometimes the view is better than the picture. I have watched photogs with large format cameras (View Graphic) spend an hour or more getting the angles just right so everything in the image is vertical and parallel to the horizon. Lots of work for one pic. You've got a colorful documentary, enjoy it! Link to comment
