I would love to comment, but... considering that spacecraft orbiting mars generally get photos of equal or lesser quality, can you explain how you might have gotten a photo like this from a state park? Must be some telescope!

I do like the moons on the bottom left, though I must confess that I doubt this is real as it doesn't quite look like Olympus Mons. The color is right on, at least according to my obviously-not-so-manly telescope. Then again, I can't make out details like this---it looks more like an orange ball to me.

Jeffrey, I'm probably too naive to fully understand the motivation behind your comment. I don't own a telescope and the maximum zoom in my camera is 3x. But I do own a wonderful space-traveling ship that has taken me to many alien planets. The skull ...sorry...the hull... of my craft is rather small (it's a one-seater) so I cannot take you with me in my trips. It's a pitty that I packed my camera for the first time in the trip to the Mars where I took this picture, but I plan to make some other interplanetary trips soon, weather permitting. Keep an eye on my "Alien Planets" folder. In any case, it's nice that you provide a link to a picture of the other Olympus Mons. Maybe I should make clear that the one in my picture is in the same planetary system as the one depicted in your link (there's more than one Mars!). For the technically curious: I took off on my trip to this Mars from a beach in Van Buren State Park, MI. The take off is never as spectacular as that of the space suttle, but I'm sure the ride is a lot smoother, and less taxing on your nerves. Best regards!

Space traveling is not easy, and, to get good picture from far away planets is a difficult task. I know by experienced!

Well done!

Looks like a close up of some boulder.

The MIB doesn't allow for unscheduled flights. And no departures (authorized or Otherwise) occured on the date this photo was taken.
