British Museum - the Great Court

Colin, I have seen this image many times, but never with the lion, nice touch. Looks like a great place to visit. Good geometric pattern in the roof and shadows.

Very good choice of camera point and perspective, I like especially the fact that the roof lines cross the UL and UR corner, and your placement of the lion figure here. Great DOF, not easy to get with the 5D ;-)

The lion adds a bit of originality to this often photographed ceiling structure. I haven't noticed him there before. What made you decide to go with black and white on this photo?

Good time of day to get that shot with the interesting play of light and shadows. Great DOF, as mentioned. Nice tones and contrast, too!

Thanks everyone. The DoF is not so difficult to get with a very wide angle and bright light. Also the lion is BIG so is a bit further away than he looks. I reduced to b&w as I did not get the colour balance right when taking these shots and so took the easy way out. :-)

Looking st your thumbnails, Colin, I was attracted at fitst to the colored image, but this composition is just so strong, it won out for me. All of the line and lion...surreal!

I love the composition, old mixed with new, very well done. The detail is wonderful :) The lion looks like he's watching you :)

Beautiful shot! I have one very similar to this. I like the library in your shot because it adds the shadows that are otherwise lost. I love this building. Well done.
