Yosemite Valley Sunset

Taken yesterday afternoon 10/20/06, just after the sun set behind the

big rock on the right. I think the lighting is interesting, but does

anyone else? Thanks for your comment.....Steve

This is an excellent shot of a popular setting besides next ot the river. I love the way you caught the opportunity with just the right amount of light and shadow. 7/7

To me, the lighting is interesting, but I think the shot would be improved if that foreground tree were all in the light- the dark top just doesn't look right.

 

Where the nearer rock overlaps the farther, I see a doubled line- looks sort of like a shadow, only doesn't look like a shadow should be there.

The foreground tree is actually two trees, the shorter one is bright yellow so it makes the tall tree appear to be dark at the top. Unfortunately there was no way to move the big rock or the tall tree to let the sun hit it too. ;>)

 

I attached a close up of the double shadow line. It appears there must be a tree or something behind the rock that caused it. No manipulation on my part. again nothing I can do about if I want to keep the picture honest.
