lburk1 0 Posted October 22, 2006 This was shot before sunrise using the ambient light. Comments please. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted October 22, 2006 another awesome shot. The lighting in each of these is very neat. You used a flash, i assume? Link to comment
lburk1 0 Posted October 23, 2006 Actually no. No flash was used. It was just a 15-20 sec exposure about 20 minutes before the sun was up. (I don't remember which for this particular frame) All 3 airshow photos I recently posted are "flash free". Thank you very much for the compliment. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted October 23, 2006 wow, i find that pretty amazing. But how did you hold a camera still for 15mins, didnt your arm get tired? :) again, nicely done. Link to comment
lburk1 0 Posted October 24, 2006 15 seconds not minutes. Afterall I am 50. Maybe last year I could have done 15 minutes. ;-} I brought a tripod and a bipod with me as I was running around there. I shot over 250 photos that morning trying different settings etc. I'm still a rookie at best so I shoot more than what is necessary but that's how I'm learning. Again thanks. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted October 24, 2006 shooting more than neccesary is the name of the game i beleive. This is a very neat idea, to do timed exposures on planes just before sunrise and it is not something i ever really thought about. I'll definetly have to give it a go. I wonder how a super timed exposure really early in the morning/late at night with an external flash hand held to expose different parts of the plane/subject would work. again, nice photo. k5083 1 Posted October 26, 2006 Yes, it is a nice shot, and I like this one better than the A-6 probably because this one has a handsomer subject and no trash can or other clutter. Those rich predawn time exposure colors in the sky really contribute. Link to comment
