adamburton 0 Posted October 19, 2006 Taken last week at beautiful Jasper National Park while on honeymoon. What an absolutely incredible place the Canadian Rockies is!! Luckily I was allowed to bring my camera and the sunrises were at such a reasonable time that I managed to catch a few. This one was actually a sunset. I had been sitting outside of our cottage reading a book and drinking a beer, all the while keeping an eye on the ever changing light. As the sky started to grow more orange, I grabbed my bag and wandered down to the jetty, only about 20 yards away and snapped a few shots. It really was a dream location!!! I named the shot after a famous quote that I heard British TV presenter Ray Mears say in one of his programmes (not his quote though): Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; Pedal five hundred miles on a bicycle and you remain basically bourgeois; Paddle a hundred miles in a canoe and you are already a child of nature. jonmichael 0 Posted October 19, 2006 Congrats on getting married. I love the detail on the boats and perfect simplified composition. This is a very common subject to shoot. I've seen Patrick's and others but your version is very unique. Link to comment

kahkityoong 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Great rendition of this familiar scene Adam. Remarkable colours which bathes everything beautifully. Unfortunately it looks like there are a lot of anonymous pricks around at the moment and they got this shot. Congratulations too. Link to comment
ian cameron 0 Posted October 22, 2006 Great colourful shot Adam. Once again superbly composed and very dynamic. Everything looks spot on to me alas it is like finding a golden nugget in a bucket of aluminium washers, I nearly didn't find it at all. Link to comment
