Once it was....

The juxtaposition between the representational and the living is a good one, I like the positioning of the bird and what it brings to the image....which I think is "life" or purpose as it faces the warmth of the falling sun.

Very nice.

I like it too, but I neither see a strong theme fit (looks old, hence discarded, perhaps?).

The light is gorgeous, and I love the bird (which as Seven hinted gives a sense of size). I do get the impression that the picture of the girl itself is a bit dark so I would lighten the up a little.
