Guest Guest Posted October 15, 2006 It's a collection of various props, motifs and ideas which, when put together, completely fail to create any sense, interest or even titilation for the viewer. Link to comment
freeelectron 0 Posted October 15, 2006 The composition of this photo is quite novel. Nevertheless, when I look at this photo, I have an odd feeling. I suppose the first thing I feel odd is the white paint on the models left cheek. The first impression it gives me is that the model face is kind of "deformed" with her left jaw swollen, due to the fact that I mis-perceive the white paint to be a highlight! Not until I enlarge the photo do I discover that it's in fact paint. On the other hand, the face of her seems to be a bit too pale and also skin tone of her body seems to be not warm enough, and hence creating a "muddy" /yellowish" feeling on her body. And this kind of "yellowish" tone seems not to be very harmonic with the "sky blue" and "pale purple" background. Hence, the overall effect, in my opinion, seems to be not very harmonic. What do you think? I am interested in your original thoughts behind this photo. Regards. Link to comment
arden 0 Posted October 15, 2006 I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to make the comments. Indeed this is a modest experiment of bodyscape. The model was painted by a well known artist and this activity was part of a recently concluded photo congress. This was taken with continuous lighting as we were not allowed to use flash. I used glowing effects here and crop a portion to achieve this compositiion. I haven't tried to make a sepia or black and white of this image. However, I'm really glad that you find time to drop some notes. I'm still learning this genre. Best regards. /Ariel Link to comment
